DUBAI 5 January 2021: Nefsy, the food app with Eat For Good, has been awarded a Guinness World Records title after creating the largest greetings card mosaic (flag) made from greetings cards.

The mosaic, which is a representation of the UAE flag, measured 490 square metres. It was constructed outside Dubai Police, Al Wasl, behind City Walk and served to mark the momentous occasion that Nefsy has raised funds to buy 49,000 food boxes to feed 49,000 families in need, after what has been an incredibly challenging year, following the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic.

The 49,000 food boxes made up of essential items including rice, wheat, oil, sugar, salt, water and also sanitiser, are being distributed by Emirates Red Crescent – and will feed more than 250,000 individuals for more than 10 days. As an added touch, each of the folded greetings cards used to create the Guinness title will be included in each of the food boxes.

The challenge was launched in celebration of the UAE’s 49th National Day to celebrate the spirit of the UAE, the homeland of humanity, but to also help combat world hunger, nefsy’s primary aim. https://dubaigazette.com/dubai-51/

Founder of Nefsy, Khaled Diab, comments: “We are over-the-moon to have broken a Guinness World Records title by creating the largest greetings card mosaic (flag) as part of our accomplishment to feed 49,000 families in need. It is certainly the first and biggest flag of a good cause!”

Nefsy, which launched in September 2019, received a permit from the Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department (IACAD) – license number 3333 of the Dubai Government, under Emirates Red Crescent, to make this heart-felt and deeply important initiative a possibility.
